Baton Rouge Mini Maker Faire Saturday, Oct. 6

The East Baton Rouge Parish Library’s 5th Annual Baton Rouge Mini Maker Faire will take place from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at the Main Library at Goodwood, 7711 Goodwood Blvd. in Baton Rouge.

This year, as well as the usual high- and low-tech booths, the Library will have an outer space focus with guests including Miguel de Jesus from the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, who will teach attendees how to make a rocket, Cajun-style, and members of the Baton Rouge Astronomical Society who will discuss the wonders of the night sky. Visitors may explore the MARS truck, take a tour the ISS Space Station in Virtual Reality, and a trip to Alice's Wonderland courtesy of the Knock Knock Children's Museum. There will be a show from the Baton Rouge Fire Guild and live art painting, in addition to makers and performers interactive booth activities for attendees.
