Tickets on sale now for Writers and Readers 2019

Tickets are now on sale for the 12th annual Writers and Readers Symposium to be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at the Hemingbough Convention Center in St. Francisville. Authors will read from and discuss their writing and creative processes, there will be an art show and competition of literature-related artworks, book sales, and lunch.

Jason Berry
Alysson Foti Bourque
Dima Ghawi
C.H. Lawler
Erica Spindler

Registration is from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Feb. 16, then from 9 a.m. to noon authors will read from and discuss their writing and creative processes. At noon, participants will be able to eat lunch with these authors. Presentations will continue following lunch until approximately 3:30 p.m.

Conundrum Books and Puzzles in St. Francisville will have copies of authors' books on site for sale, and the authors will be available to autograph and chat with participants. "A Novel Image" Art Show will also be held in conjunction with the symposium and include photographs, paintings, and sculptures related to writing and literature. The audience will pick their favorite works of art, and awards will be given to the first, second and third place winners.

This program is supported in part by a Decentralized Arts Funding Grant from the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge in cooperation with the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, and Louisiana State Arts Council.
