UL Press to launch new books Sunday at Vermilionvile


Two new University of Louisiana at Lafayette Press book releases will launch this weekend as park of Vermilionville's Acadian Culture Day in Lafayette: Michael Martin's “Rethinking New Acadia: Recent Interpretations of the Acadians’ Dispersal and Arrival in Louisiana” and “B Pour Bayou: Un Abécaédaire Cadien," a charming illustrated Cajun French alphabet book written by Richard Guidry and illustrated by Réjean Roy.

Contributors Barry Ancelet, Brenda Mounier, Kirby Jambon and David Cheramie will be at Vermilionville's Performance Center at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, to discuss “B Pour Bayou” and to sign copies of the new book. Michael Martin will speak at 11 a.m. and sign books, also in the Performance Center.

The press will also have a booth set in the Boucvalt House at Vermilionville, showcasing their many Acadian and Cajun-related.

Also, in UL Press news...The French edition of Zachary Richard's popular history of the Acadians in Louisiana for middle-grade students is now back in print!







Louisiana Book News is written by award-winning author Chere Dastugue Coen, who writes Louisiana romances and mysteries under the pen name of Cherie Claire. Her first book in each series is FREE to download as an ebook, including "Emilie," book one of The Cajun Series, "Ticket to Paradise," book one of The Cajun Embassy series and "A Ghost of a Chance," the first Viola Valentine mystery.
