Best-selling authors Clayton, Cordova to offer 'teen chats' March 16 at Jefferson Parish Library branches

Dhonielle Clayton and Zoraida Cordova, two best-selling authors, will hold “teen chats” Saturday, March 16, at Jefferson Parish Libraries. The first session occurs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 West Napoleon Avenue, Metairie. The second session occurs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the West Bank Regional Library, 2751 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey.

During each presentation, the authors will talk about their books, but they will also encourage teens, tweens and older writers to fulfill their dreams of creating fiction.

Dhonielle Clayton earned a master’s degree in children's literature from Hollins University and a master of fine arts degree in writing for children at the New School. She is author of “The Belles” series and is a former librarian. She is chief operating officer of the non-profit We Need Diverse Books, and co-founder of CAKE Literary, a creative kitchen whipping up literary confections for middle grade, young adult, and women's fiction readers.


Zoraida Córdova is the award-winning author of the “Brooklyn Brujas” series and “The Vicious Deep” trilogy. Her short fiction has appeared in the New York Times bestselling anthology “Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View” and “Toil and Trouble: 15 Tales of Women and Witchcraft.” She is the co-editor of “Vampires Never Get Old,” a young adult anthology. Her upcoming young adult novels include “Star Wars: A Crash of Fate” and “Incendiary,” the first book in the Hollow Crown duology. Cordova was born in Ecuador and raised in Queens, New York.



Louisiana Book News is written by award-winning author Chere Dastugue Coen, who writes Louisiana romances and mysteries under the pen name of Cherie Claire. Her first book in each series is FREE to download as an ebook, including "Emilie," book one of The Cajun Series, "Ticket to Paradise," book one of The Cajun Embassy series and "A Ghost of a Chance," the first Viola Valentine mystery.
