Robert Olen Butler to speak at 2017 Words and Music

Pulitzer Prize-winning author and actor Robert Olen Butler will give a performance and discuss "Revisiting Vietnam" at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at Arnaud's Restaurant in New Orleans.

The event is part of the Faulkner Society's annual Words and Music celebration.

Butler will perform pieces from his Pulitzer Prize-winning collection of short stories, "A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain," and from his new novel, "Perfume River."

Both books are about Vietnam refugees, many of them boat people who landed in Louisiana after the fall of Saigon.
