The purpose of the Adult Spelling Bee is to promote good
spelling and good spelling habits, expand vocabulary and encourage accurate word usage and pronunciation. The Jefferson Parish Library’s Adult Spelling Bee is a
contest in which individual competitors are eliminated as they fail to spell a
given word correctly.
The library’s first adult spelling bee, held in August 2013
at the East Bank Regional Library, featured almost 20 competitors and has grown
steadily since.

Chris Smith, Manager of Adult Programming for the library, at 504-889-8143 or wcsmith@jefferson.lib.la.us.
