Tuesday Ebook Spotlight: 'Dog Days of Voodoo'

G.A. Chase’s first official foray into writing was the science fiction series Technopia under the name of Greg Chase. Then he discovered New Orleans, falling in love with the city over a plate of crawfish etouffee in the French Quarter. He told his wife, author Deanna Chase, that this was a city he could live in — and pen stories. That was 2003 and he’s been here ever since, writing stories inspired and based in New Orleans under the name of G.A. Chase.

Take the Malveaux Curse Mystery series, for instance. Book one, “Dog Days of Voodoo,” is currently being offered for free as an ebook download.

Here’s the book description:

Asolutely nothing stands between a woman and her beloved dog… not even the malevolent force of a voodoo curse.

Kendell Summer, lead guitarist for Polly Urethane and the Strippers, has always been interested in the unexplained. So when she sets off on a paranormal research romp with Myles, a former classmate, to explore his skills in psychometry, she’s ready for a little adventure. But she gets more than she bargained for when her Lhasa apso, Cheesecake, is dognapped. Kendell will do whatever it takes to get her dog back. While rescuing the pup, Kendell and Myles learn that the touristy glitz of New Orleans’ voodoo shops hides a dark history few understand—a truth that some in the city plan to use for their own gain.

Sarah C., editor at Red Adept Editing, said this about the book: "In Dog Days of Voodoo, author Greg Chase spins a tale of a paranormal investigation, a twisted family tree, and a beloved canine, all amid the glitzy decay and parade culture of New Orleans."

Louisiana Book News is written by award-winning author Chere Dastugue Coen, who writes romances and mysteries under the pen name of Cherie Claire. Her first book in each series is FREE to download as an ebook, including "A Ghost of a Chance," the first Viola Valentine mystery.
